Product Overview
The Sand Blaster for Glass Etching is an automated glass surface finishing machine for frosting, decorative etching, and controlled surface roughening. It processes 3–30 mm glass and uses controlled abrasive feeding, blasting pressure, and conveyor speed to produce repeatable surface effects. The integrated sand-feeding and blowing system reduces dependence on manual blasting, while the water-circulating dust removal system helps control abrasive dust during production. It is suitable for architectural, decorative, and industrial flat-glass processing.

Glass Etching Capability & Surface Finish Options
The machine supports full-surface frosting, partial-area etching, decorative patterns, and controlled surface roughening. Depending on the abrasive grade, blasting pressure, exposure time, and masking method, buyers can specify different surface effects, including uniform matte, satin, translucent, and more pronounced textured finishes.
For patterned production, stencils or masks can define logos, text, borders, geometric designs, and other exposed areas. Processing parameters can be recorded and repeated for consistent results across production batches.
Etching Process
Glass is loaded onto the conveyor and positioned for automatic blasting. The abrasive is continuously fed and propelled toward the glass surface while the blasting system moves across the working area. Abrasive impact removes or roughens the exposed glass surface to create the required frosted or etched effect.
Conveyor speed and blasting parameters are adjusted according to glass thickness, abrasive grade, and required surface density. The integrated dust-removal system collects airborne abrasive during processing.
Abrasive & Pressure Control
Suitable abrasive selection is critical to surface uniformity and abrasive consumption. Aluminum oxide is widely used for controlled glass etching, while other mineral abrasives may be selected according to the required finish and equipment configuration.
Pressure, abrasive feed rate, nozzle movement, and conveyor speed should be coordinated rather than adjusted independently. Finer abrasives and lower exposure intensity are generally used for lighter satin finishes, while coarser media and higher blasting intensity produce stronger texturing.
The machine uses an integrated sand-feeding and blowing structure, eliminating the need for a separate external air compressor in the supplied configuration.
Customization
Machine configuration can be adapted to the buyer's production requirements, including working width, conveyor configuration, blasting arrangement, control settings, and dust-removal system.
Customization should be based on actual glass dimensions and production targets rather than machine size alone. For OEM projects, buyers can provide sample glass, target surface finish, abrasive specification, pattern requirements, and expected production capacity for configuration and process verification.
Quality Inspection
Before shipment, the machine should undergo functional and processing checks covering conveyor movement, abrasive feeding, blasting consistency, pressure control, dust removal, control-system operation, and safety functions.
For glass-finishing verification, sample panels can be processed to check surface uniformity, pattern definition, frosting consistency, and repeatability against the agreed production requirements. Key operating parameters will be recorded during testing so that the buyer can reproduce the approved finishing result after installation.
FAQ
Q: What factory utilities are required for installation?
A: The required electrical power, voltage, frequency, compressed-air arrangement, water supply, drainage, and workshop space depend on the final machine configuration. These utility requirements should be confirmed on the machine layout and technical data sheet before installation.
Q: How is the machine installed after delivery?
A: The machine is normally delivered with installation documentation and operating instructions. For overseas projects, installation can be completed by the buyer's technicians with remote guidance, while on-site commissioning can be arranged when required under the supply contract.
Q: Is operator training provided?
A: Yes. Operator training should cover machine operation, parameter setting, abrasive handling, routine cleaning, safety procedures, and basic troubleshooting. Training can be provided during commissioning or remotely using operating documentation and instructional materials.
Q: Which components are considered normal wear parts?
A: Wear parts commonly include blasting nozzles, abrasive conveying components, seals, filters or separation components, and conveyor-related parts. A recommended spare-parts list will be supplied with the machine so buyers can prepare replacement components for continuous production.
Q: Can spare parts be ordered separately after commissioning?
A: Yes. Replacement parts can normally be supplied separately according to the machine model and component specification. Buyers should retain the machine serial number and original parts list when ordering to avoid compatibility issues.
Q: What is the typical delivery time for this machine?
A: A standard delivery time is typically 60–90 days after order confirmation, receipt of the agreed payment, and finalization of technical specifications. Customized configurations may require additional engineering and manufacturing time.
Q: What warranty is normally provided?
A: A 12-month warranty from commissioning is a normal supply condition for the machine. Warranty coverage excludes consumable wear parts and damage caused by improper operation.
